In coordination with the United Nations Office for Project Services in Nepal (UNOPS) which is financed by the Global Environment Facility/Small Grants Program (GEF/SGP), UNDP, UNEP and the World Bank- CCODER has been given the opportunity to run a project in the district of Gorkha in Nepal. The overall objectives of the project are to:

  • Promote sustainable harvesting practices for naturally grown MAPs
  • Increase environmentally friendly and sustainable cultivation of indigenous and exotic MAPs in Gorkha
  • Increase market access within the Gorkha region for producers, gatherers and manufactures to compete with outside sources producing MAPs

The project has been running since the Summer of 2008 and will be in effect through 2010.
